About Us
Alta Claims Institute was founded by Eddy Canavan and Roxy Carmona with one mission. We provide education and tools important to Workers’ Compensation Claim Examiners. Our claim manuals were designed to cover the salient issues Examiners face when tasked with adjusting claims in multiple jurisdictions.

Instructor
Eddy began his career in 1993 with a local California third-party administrator in the file room. He quickly worked his way up to a claim examiner. In 2001, he moved to a global third-party administrator working in various roles over teams, programs, quality, and a national practice. Eddy built knowledge and expertise regarding national Workers’ Compensation matters for many public entities as well as Fortune companies. In 2019, Eddy founded Alta Claims Service, Inc with Roxy Carmona with one purpose, to improve claim outcomes.

Instructor
Deanna began her career in 1986 with a prominent global third-party administrator as a claim examiner. In 2007, Deanna transitioned to Risk Management for a County, assisting with program design, claims management and coverage issues. Most recently, Deanna worked for a claim’s administrator leading a team responsible for problematic claim issues. Deanna currently works for Alta Claims Services, Inc. as a Senior Claims Analyst. Deanna has a myriad of experience in varying aspects of the casualty industry.
